Work is busy; construction schedules booked out nearly a year ahead, but is anyone having supplier fun? Unfortunately a huge amount of our work is managing back orders for out of stock items, shortage of supply, mis-supply, errors and omissions and those never ending price rises. Add to this, all those key people in suppliers battling to keep up, burning out and their work being picked up by further overloaded staff or new staff, and it is certainly fun.
We have taken on two new part-timers in the office to cope with the tracking of changes due to altered supply and are teaching them processes, as well as forcing us to adapt existing processes to keep communication going clearly.
